Warner Bros. Discovery
Warner Bros. Discovery is a global media and entertainment giant, one of the “big four” alongside Amazon, Netflix, and Disney. The newly formed company combines WarnerMedia’s premium entertainment, sports, and news assets with Discovery’s leading non-fiction and international entertainment and sports businesses, including Discovery Channel, discovery+, Warner Bros. Entertainment, CNN, CNN+, DC, Eurosport, HBO, HBO Max, HGTV, Food Network, Investigation Discovery, TLC, TNT, TBS, truTV, Travel Channel, MotorTrend, Animal Planet, Science Channel, New Line Cinema, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and others.
Warner Bros. Discovery now owns one of the largest libraries in the world, giving it a vital edge in the race for subscribers in the streaming age. Unlike the previous corporate owner of Warner Bros., AT&T, Discovery has deep roots in story-telling and the entertainment industry, positioning the new company as the home for creatives and content-makers. The goal with the merger was to establish a creative powerhouse that builds on its history as well as its unmatched talent and vision for the future.

The identity for Warner Bros. Discovery reflects this goal. A distillation of the classic 1948 Warner Bros. shield—synonymous with cinematic creativity—the updated mark features reductive geometry, streamlined curves, and bright colors. Reimagining the shield from its original three-dimensional rendering involved redrawing it from scratch, equalizing the weight of the W and B letterforms with the stroke of the encasing shield shape. This consistency of line weight, with harmony between each element, creates a unified, contemporary symbol.
“The Warner Bros. Discovery identity represents excellence in storytelling. With great reverence to the heritage of Warner Bros., our mark is the perfect banner for our new company.“
The strong, sans serif, all-capital letters forming the wordmark have been drawn to accentuate the pointed terminals—not only in the straight-angle letters such as the N and the W but also in the terminals of the round C and S. The legs of the four Rs in the name have been extended, creating additional angular details throughout the name. This distinctive character of the wordmark resonates with the pointed details of the modernized shield.
