TNT Sports
TNT Sports will be the name for a new premium sports brand in the U.K & Ireland. It has held an association with top-tier sports for many years, having established broadcast channels in Latin America as well as live sports being a longtime staple on the TNT network in the United States featuring the NBA, NHL and NCAA. Today, it is set to become a leading name in the industry in a new territory. UK-based BT Sport will now become TNT Sports, featuring premium sports content such as Premier League, Champions League, MotoGP and WWE in the United Kingdom & Ireland. In the future, long-established channel Eurosport UK will also be merged into the TNT Sports offering. As a key sports brand within the Warner Bros. Discovery, it became essential to create a unified identity with a strong silhouette as an anchor.
The TNT Sports logo combines the long-established TNT mark with a custom wordmark for “Sports.” Building on the graphic properties of the lettering in the TNT design, which features an uncommon combination of round and angled corners in the same letter, a specially drawn typeface was created, combining straight and round angles in which each letter has at least one curve. This unusual geometry results in a proprietary type style that unites the two elements—TNT and Sports—harmoniously and gives the overall identity a distinctive yet versatile appearance.
