Mika Owens

Mika Owens is an associate and the design director at Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv, responsible for creative direction, project management and strategy. During her tenure at the firm, she has worked on identity design projects such as Warner Bros., British Virgin Islands, Wolf Entertainment, State Farm, Animal Planet, Pew Research Center, Apollo Global Management, Dominion Energy, America250, and many more. Together with partners Tom Geismar and Sagi Haviv, she co-teaches a class on identity design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Mika graduated cum laude with a BS & MA in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University, where she also studied architecture, informing her environmental graphics work. While at Kent State, she taught classes in typography and corporate identity. Prior to joining the firm, Mika was a designer at C&G Partners in New York City, working on wayfinding, environmental identification, and graphics projects for Yankee Stadium, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Major League Baseball, Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Embassy in London, and the World Trade Center Memorial and Plaza.
